”I've spent the summer mechanically overhauling the car; pulling the engine and replacing most seals, new A/C compressor, new fan motor, new wheel cylinders and shoes, restoring the carburetor, pulling the front and rear glass to fix leaks, restoring the clock, and installing a true dual exhaust.
I did some research and got the PHS run down on my car. 45,212 Star Chief Execs produced: 24,489 4-door sedans, 10,140 hard top coupes, and 10,583 4-door hard tops.
Compared to 254,310 Catalinas and 135,401 Bonnevilles, that's a 1:6:3 ratio, rather rare.
The car has the YD code 389, A/C police and taxi with 10.5:1 compression, 290HP, 418 lb/ft torque, 2 barrel Rochester, and TH/400 2.56:1 tranny.14 options on build sheet, and I've added another 6 through improvements.”
