1953 Classic Pontiacs
1953 Chieftain Deluxe
“I have owned this 1953 Chieftain Deluxe for five years.
It is a stock, mostly original Pontiac with a repaint two years ago. It has had various mechanical repairs to keep it roadworthy.
With the 122 HP straight eight engine coupled to the four speed hydramatic, this vehicle cruises the modern highway in ultimate comfort.”

“This is my rare 1953 Canadian Pontiac Chieftain 2 dr post.”

'55 Star Chief 2 Door Hardtop
“Originally a 265 car w/3 on the tree. When it was bought by us 20+ years ago it had a 3spd floor shift kit.
Now it's a 350 automatic. My brother now has the car and plans to drop a 455 Rocket into it.”
06.17.2006 - Bryce in Alberta, Canada
1955 Star Chief Custom 4Dr Sedan
“This is an original 55 Starchief CUSTOM 4dr sedan with 87,000+ miles.
I believe that I am the 3rd owner. I purchased it with 83,000 miles and drive it quite often. It has a clear hood ornament insert rather than amber. I have been told that these were dealer installed in states that did not allow lights other than clear on the front of a vehicle!
It was originally sold in Pennsylvania. I have almost all literature, manuals and promo material produced for this car.”
03.30.2008 - Steve in Georgia
1956 Classic Pontiacs
1956 Star Chief Custom Safari
2door station wagon – 6 passenger
“I have been an US-car enthusuast at least 30 years and have an 8-car garage and two of these are actually Pontiacs. This is my 1956 Safari.”
“I have recently read in Hemmings that somebody claimed 308 of these are still known to exist. IŽll bet he didnŽt know about mine, so it must be 309 left.”
04.08.2008 - Leif in Denmark
NOTE: Production Total 4,042
1957 Classic Pontiacs
1957 Chieftain 2 Door Sedan

“This car is very rare as it has factory air conditioning, factory dealer installed four speed and a posi traction rear end with 3:42 gears.
It has a factory Star Chief dash and had a tripower when new. I'm sill looking for a 57 tripower if anyone has one.”

1958 Classic Pontiacs
1958 Pontiac Strato Chief

“Fully restored with the 261 cubic inch motor. Runs like a dream. All Pontiacs which came into South Africa came from Canada and are right hand drive. The 1958 Pontiac is very rare inside South Africa and mine is in pristine condition. I also own several other classics starting from a 1927 Austin Seven Van. I am looking for a set of hidraulic valve lifters for my Pontiac anywhere in Canada as I will be visiting Canada during 2008 and can then buy it and bring it with me. To date I have not been able to find any supplier inside Canada who supplies such hidraulic valve lifters.”
01.14.2008 - Ron in South Africa
1958 Pontiac Bonneville Sport Coupe 358
“I had wanted a '58 Bonneville since 1958.
I acquired one in 1990 and restored it for 10 years.”

“Texaco is having an online car show to pick the ‘Car of the Decades‘.
Right now Studebakers (imagine?) are leading in just about every category. There are 3 Pontiacs entered (including my '58 Bonneville).
We need Pontiac lovers to register and vote for our Pontiacs. Any support from you, your family and friends and the Pontiac community is needed and greatly appreciated. Studebakers are just burying everyone else. Thanks.”

January 29, 2006: Re: Canadian Strato Chief
On January 23, 2006, our ‘Canadian Classic Pontiacs Consultant’ Glen Bibby, offered this information on the Strato Chief.
“This was the base model, introduced in 58. Continued as the base model until the cut-off in 71.
In the time she existed, there was no US Pontiac equivalent, as the Strato competed with the Biscayne in Canada.
Up until the finish, a Strato could be ordered with all the Chev over the top engines, but at a serious price,
as the engines were made in the US, and heavy ‘duty’ was applicable.
It wasn't until '65, when the 66's were being made, that the ‘Autopac’ between the US and Canada was ratified, hence the eventual death of the Chev based Pontiac in Canada.”
