1960 Bonneville
Owned by Brian at
“Tri-power 389, hydramatic, 75,000 miles - a nice stocker bought at Barret Jackson in 1998 with 43,000 miles, driven regularly since.”
“Original bucket seat interior and drivetrain, repainted in black, has a non-matching 1960 "economy" block, unknown engine internals but with 185 PSI compression. Mods include 61 SD aluminum intake, rare tri-Y Hedman headers, Flowmasters, electronic points conversion and that's about it except for cosmetic doo-dahs like billet wheels, caddy taillights, bullet mirrors and fender guides. Best time so far of 15.79 @ 85 MPH with 3.08 open diff, but more to come soon as I'm currently installing SD heads, new cam and 3.23 posi. A full 4-speed conversion is coming after that.”
“The car has won this event two years in a row: http://kontinentals.com/drags04/ ”
“I am planning on defending my title at the Day of the Drags. I have been busy going over the Super Duty heads I picked up recently. I plan to swap the SD heads for the stock ones I have now, fiddle with jetting on the tri-power and maybe slip into the 14s. I'll make a track day soon to test the results as the 3.23 posi I installed recently really hooks up good, but the old Hydramatic is pretty slippery on shifts.”
